New Age Office Building

Following an invitation-only competition, we submitted the conceptual design for the officebuilding to the investor, CPI, in January 2019. As the winners of the competition, we havebeen working on the detailed design of the building in several stages, and we currently hold a valid building permit. Despite the delays and uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 situation, the construction plans were finally completed in 2022.

The location of the building presented several challenges for us. Situated in the vicinity of Agora, enclosed by Dunavirág, Párkány, and Esztergomi streets, the block stands out visuallyin a prominent position along the curved line of Róbert Károly Boulevard, leading to Árpád Bridge. Although it is just one among numerous office buildings, it captures attention due toits unique visual presence. It is clearly visible from all vehicles approaching or leaving thebridge, creating a dynamic and ever-changing image. We aimed to express this flow and momentum in the design of our building, and it was greatly facilitated by the fact that CPI commissioned us to create an interesting and exciting structure that stands out in itssurroundings.

The massing of the building is a combination of curved elements, responding to the lines and movements of the environment, while producing functionally flawless office floor plans. The radius of the curves allows the overall composition of the facade sections, created fromstraight elements, to remain curved. The intersection of the vertical mass elements at varyingheights creates a dynamic and favorable impression from all directions. Special attention wasgiven to the main entrance, which is situated beneath a large mass element, clearly indicatingits location.

The facade treatment is extremely simple, composed of horizontal elements that delineate thecurved forms, harmonizing well with the ribbon windows commonly found in officebuildings. The facades are supplemented with colored shading elements that serve multiplefunctions, participating not only in sun shading but also in energy supply. The process of adapting the building to the most advanced energy supply systems is currently underway.
