Our task here was to expand Graphisoft Park’s first building sticking to the same scale as theoriginal. We won the closed design competition. Interestingly, the program required thecreation of unusually large communal spaces that created a new workplace quality. We set theconnecting wing a little further back and designed it one level shorter, on the top of which weplaced a roof terrace suitable to host events.
When designing the new building wing it wasessential that the architectural formation of the building consisting of the two building partsremain one architectural unit, while keeping their unique character. We were eager toexperiment with the brick and glass elements, constructed in a plate structure. During thedesign process it was important for us to align our viewpoints with the original designers of the building, Építészstúdió – Ferenc Cságoly, Ferenc Keller.
