The headquarters of MVM the Hungarian electricity provider on Szentendrei Road was completed in 2008 based on our designs. Already at that time, the site behind it was also purchased with a view to a potential future extension. We were commissioned to design the new building as winners of an invited design competition announced in spring 2019.
In technical terms, this arrangement can also be managed economically: all networks can be controlled from the centre, while the curves are constructed from straight elements, made up of components below the critical size that still ensure a curved appearance. In addition to its important functional value, the feature staircase running through the central space also connects the levels as a spatial element. On the galleries, break-out and meeting areas complementing the office zones can be optimally arranged, as can mobile workplaces. The parking areas are located on the basement levels, within a hexagonal contour adapted to the geometry of the superstructure.
