The narrow, undeveloped plot of land around the Opera House, a rapidly developing area, posed a major challenge for the requested four-star hotel with a unique character. The aim was to create as many rooms as possible with unique spatial situations and exciting openings. To achieve this, the building was designed as a self-contained group of towers connected by glass corridors, respecting and making use of the openings and cavities along the adjacent site boundaries. This resulted in a unique appearance and the largest possible facade surfaces. Each tower had a different character, both architecturally and in terms of interior design. On the street side, the two towers, aligned with the neighbouring buildings, marked a clear and distinct entrance to the complex. The lobby, the café and the small breakfast room were connected to the 40 rooms on the ground floor as a coherent space. On the top floor, we took advantage of the exceptional views to locate the fitness rooms, including the pool. The architectural character was created with a variety of movable shades in unique patterns. In the end, our firm did not win the contract.
