BÓBITA NURSERY
The main element of the architectural design is the multifunctional space, called the Bóbita space. It creates a unique space for the parents, carers, and of course for the children in which to organize programs. This space is the heart of the building, easily accessible from the entrance and the children’s area. Its flexible walls, and the many ways in which it can be formed to the surrounding spaces make it a perfect center of the building. Groups of two children’s rooms are joined to the corridor around the central space. Within each group, both children’s rooms have their own lavatory, changing rooms, and they are all organized in the best way to have the best opening on the facade for natural lighting. Between the children’s rooms and bathrooms visual connections is provided by the glass partitions for safety. The classrooms have their own transitional space, terrace. Above this all we thought it important to have direct contact with the garden which has been created through the dressing room. The one-story building has a high-roof design where each floor plan unit, has its own unique shape with varying height. The highest space is the Bóbita space followed by the children’s rooms and the dressing-room units. Natural lighting throughout the nursery, natural materials and colour use, avoiding plastics, natural textures of materials and surfaces, all played an important role in the choice of materials for interior and exterior use. We received a lot of help in the conceptual development of the plans from the head of the Ringato programme, Ili Gálné Gróh.
